When you think of punk you probably don't immediately think of Iceland. There were several good punk bands from there and if you like The Fall or Killing Joke then you might like some of these bands. The Fraebbblarnir, Purrkur Pillnikk, Q4U and Utangardsmenn releases are especially worthwhile. Ego are also very good but not punk (at least not the LPs). The Rokk i Reykjavik compilation includes some excellent punk and postpunk tracks and is a good sampler of most all bands around at the time. Several CD releases are available from Bad Taste Records , including the Rokk i Reykjavik CD.
Note: The letter that looks like a P, as in Peyr, isn't really a P. Its more like a "Th" sound. Sometimes it will be written as Peyr, or Theyr.
